2013 State of the Region conference in Redlands

At the 2013 State of the Region conference in Redlands, John Magness, SVP, Hillwood – A Perot Company, states industrial sector leads economic recovery in the IE. An industrial land rush is seen in places like Rialto, Chino, similar to back in 2005. Spec development is back. The dot com fulfillment centers are growing in San Bernardino County. As E-commerce, M-commerce and S-commerce expands, physical sales sites close.

Healthcare and Land Use

The Inland Empire is greatly underserved in the Healthcare sector. With a large young population 0-19 and old population 55+, job growth is expected in the ambulatory, i.e. doctor and dental visits, subset of healthcare. Coupled with other current and impending governmental changes, how will this growth impact land use and real estate in the Inland Empire? John Goodman, Beaver Medical Group and Dr. John Husing, economist, presented at the 2013 State of the Region at University of Redlands.

Capital Markets is presented details of the federal EB-5 program

A panel of speakers at the Capital Markets Initiative council, including Mahsa Aliaskari and John Tishler of Sheppard Mullin; Steve Hopkins of Hopkins Development and Janet Wang, EB5 Direct Investments, LLC, presented the details of the federal EB-5 program that was designed to stimulate economic development with international investment (seen today as a substitute for mezzanine financing in the development sector.)
