ULI Germany and ULI OC/IE

ULI International Leadership Team

Members and staff from North America, Europe and Asia, part of the ULI International Leadership Team, work together on a team-building, white water rafting experience in Colorado. Each year, new District Council Chairs, Mission Advancement Chairs, Governance Chairs and Executive Directors attend a retreat with ULI District Council staff to focus on how to advance the ULI mission in their respective regions. ULI is truly a global organization.

Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center

ULI OCIE Mentorship Groups (Mentors: Robert Glessner, Karen Gulley and Ann Cutner) attend a hard hat tour of the The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), led by Michael McAlpine of STV and William Davis of Group Delta Consultants.   ARTIC will combine a transportation gateway and mixed-use activity center on a 16-acre site owned by the City of Anaheim.   ARTIC will serve as a hub for Orange County and the region, a landmark where freeways, major arterials, bus routes and Orange County’s backbone rail system converge.

Transportation Committee Gears Up for a Mini-TAP

During today’s Infrastructure Initiative Council meeting, the Transportation Committee brainstormed interesting topics and shared new developments in Southern California transportation. Members began preparing questions for a survey that will be distributed among cities and that will be used to help ULI OCIE discover what the most urgent transportation issues are for our cities. The outcome of this survey will be a Mini-TAP (Technical Assistance Panel) that offers the advice of a panel of experts on a project or challenge within the ULI OCIE region.

ULI Infrastructure Council on Water and Transporation

Today at ULI OCIE, Infrastructure Initiative Council Meeting at Irvine Ranch Water District (with special guest Adam Hutchinson of Orange County Water District in attendance), the council discuss water and transportation issues. Where do we get our water? Where does the water go? How is water getting recycled today? How does water get used? (White Paper coming soon!) In addition, they discussed how beneficial performing TAP (Technical Assistance Panel) might be in pursuing their goals.

Winner of ULI Open House Raffle for Chairmen’s Reception Ticket

During ULI Orange County/Inland Empire’s Open House on Friday July 18, business cards were collected to be entered into a raffle for tickets to our Summer Networking Event, the Chairmen’s Reception on August 21, 2014. Teresa Harvey of Terracon Consulting is the raffle winner! ULI OCIE looks forward to seeing her at the reception. ULI’s First Open House!

On July 18, 2014, ULI Orange County/Inland Empire held an Open House. The Open House was a great success with a steady flow of members and non-members attending from 9am-2pm. Visitors had a chance to network, visit and enjoy some very tasty treats. ULI OCIE would like extend a special thank you those that attended. Wastewater Treatment In OC

Pictured here are members viewing a “digester” where solids are extracted from wastewater then microorganisms break down the solids emitting methane gas that is recycled into energy running the plant.

ULI Mentorship Group and GE Capital RE discuss public storage portfolio project

Mentorship Group 7 mentored by Robert Glessner met with Christian Garner and Edwin Kwan at their GE Real Estate office for lunch on July 11th and had a great discussion about GE’s Real Estate business.
