NEXT Members
MHIC June 3 2015 Meeting

Vice Chair: Sean Matsler
Assistant Vice Chair: Jennifer Chirco-Coker
Vice Chair, Education: Tunde Ogunwole
Vice Chair, Outreach: Bryant Brislin

ULI NEXT intends to provide an opportunity for individuals at similar stages in their careers to develop a meaningful connection in a forum that facilitates open sharing of knowledge among participants.

Unlike the typical events targeted for mid-career professionals, ULI NEXT is a committed and recurring gathering of an invitation-only group who can develop deeper connections than the normal social networking structure provides.

For ULI members in the 35-45 age range (but we’re flexible).:

  1. Membership in ULI NEXT is by invitation only and the ULI NEXT Initiative Council participation is limited to 30 members.
  2. There is an application process.
  3. All ULI OC/IE members, who fit the age requirement, will be invited to submit an application – ULI Membership, Full or Associate, is a prerequisite.
  4. Selection will be based, in part, on a desire to bring a diverse mix of experiences to the table and to get involved in the ULI.

What brings us together?:

  1. We may still have a boss, but we may also be bosses ourselves.
  2. We may be single, but many of us are married and have families.
  3. We don’t have time to go to happy hours every week, so we are careful about how we choose to spend our time.
  4. We are invested in our careers and in Orange County and the Inland Empire.
  5. We want to grow professionally and create lasting relationships in our industry.

Program of Work
Quarterly lunch meetings:

  1. Many of us have after-work responsibilities and make participation in meetings after 6pm unreliable.
  2. Meetings will be kept to 75 minutes.
  3. Meeting location can rotate to maximize convenience for the membership and/or to accommodate the committee leading each meeting.
  4. By design, this is not a group with programmed social events.

Meeting Topics:

  1. We will have guest speakers and peer-directed programs where we hear from one another.
  2. Members will be asked to join a committee focused on one of three areas: Real Estate Industry Developments: Personal Growth; and Community.
  3. Meeting topics will rotate among the three issue areas.
  4. Sub-committee members are responsible for identifying a subject and creating a way to facilitate a meaningful 45-minute member-led conversation at each quarterly meeting.
    1. Real Estate Industry Developments – Possible topics
      1. Succession planningIndustry growth & strategic planning
