Best of the Best
The ULI Orange County/Inland Empire’s Sustainable Communities Initiative Council recognizes projects, programs and policies of exceptional value in Orange County and the Inland Empire, in terms of applying the key principles of sustainable community development at its annual Best of the Best Awards. Judges look for examples from business, government and non-profit sectors that exemplify the “Triple Bottom Line” or “E3” paradigm of Sustainability- i.e. Economic Value, Environmental Quality and Social Equity (also sometimes referred to as P3 — People, Planet and Profits), the key components of sustainable development. Since Sustainability is a multi-dimensional framework of thinking, designing, purchasing, building, and operating, applications will be judged with emphasis on innovation and creativity in demonstrating how a particular project, program or policy is achieving E3 or P3 objectives. Awards are given to projects, programs and policies at an awards ceremony to those who have completed the application and shown an exemplary approach in regards to sustainability in community development within Orange County and the Inland Empire.
