Strike Team

Strike Team

The Strike Team's mission is to devise a communications and/or programmatic strategy to carry-out ULI's involvement in a timely and relevant manner on issues that are in ULI's wheelhouse and that further the ULI's mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities.

Strike Team

ULI is considered a “go-to” resource for addressing local, regional, statewide and national issues related to land use planning and real estate development in Orange County and the Inland Empire. To ensure ULI remains at the forefront of these issues the District Council has created the Strike Team. The purpose of the Strike Team is to provide an opportunity for ULI members to get involved, work together and address specific, timely issues that require a strategic communications plan to immediately release information about the issue to the greater ULI membership and real estate industry in Orange County and the Inland Empire.

The organization of the Strike Team:

  • Led by a ULI Full Member with approximately 10-15 appointed members serving as a committee. Committee members vary with the topic.
  • Focused on issues that are causing current or future uncertainty in the industry, are in ULI OC/IE’s wheelhouse and related to ULI’s priorities.
  • Selects one issue each month and devises a communications strategy to implement a response in a timely and expedient manner; within a day or a month, depending on the issue.
  • Develops a message on the selected issue to broadcast via these channels but not limited to: ULI OC/IE Blog, LinkedIn page, Facebook page, Twitter feed. The Strike Team will collaborate with organizations outside the real estate development industry and mobilize the ULI OC/IE member involvement structure and/or the greater ULI SoCal/NorCal organization.

Once an issue has been identified, the Strike Team will put out a call for members to solicit participation on the team. Members who are interested in getting involved are directed to email orangecounty@uli.org.
