At the Urban Land Institute, our door is always open to brilliant and innovative minds that have a heart to serve in the exciting world of real estate.
That’s why we are set to host the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 26 at Gensler, located at 4675 MacArthur Court in Newport Beach.
Attendees will hear from a five-member panel of distinguished women professionals who have experienced the real estate and building industry from every generation – millennial and beyond. Their voices promise to offer a fresh outlook on how their achievements and challenges experienced over the years can inform and grow the potential of all who work in this rewarding profession.
- Nina Gruen, Executive Vice President, Principal Sociologist and author of “Believe It or Not: The Challenges Facing One Professional Woman a Half Century Ago.”
- Soraya Coley, President, Cal Poly Pomona
- Joan-Marcus Colvin, CMO The New Home Company
- Anne Bretana, Senior Associate, IIDA, Gensler
- Nairi Siddiqi, Associate at Stuart Kane LLP.
It’s all part of our ongoing effort to build a bridge for women who desire leadership roles in what has been mostly a male-dominated industry. Why this initiative? Because we know that women, when given the opportunity, bring a unique set of skills and perspectives that can advance the building industry into new and expanded horizons.
And that’s precisely what the real estate business is all about—new views and bold horizons.
So, please join us as we work to raise awareness about the gender divide between men and women in the building industry and help us as we strive to bridge that gap.
