*SOLD OUT* ULI Orange County/Inland Empire: CEQA: The Law that Swallowed California
Please join us to hear from Jennifer Hernandez, a 30+ year veteran leading Land Use and Environmental Law with Holland & Knight. A Standford Law alumni, she’s recently studied lawsuit data focused around CEQA litigation and it’s impacts on development. Her presentation will include a pre-publication preview of CEQA lawsuits and their impacts to development across housing, infrastructure and other necessary developments in California. CEQA reforms are needed to restore CEQA to its original purpose of protecting the environment, instead of the status quo.
The speaker, and follow-up panel, will discuss practical strategies for reducing CEQA litigation risks for housing and infrastructure projects, and also discuss the political obstacles to enacting reforms that could encourage more timely construction of housing, infrastructure, and other projects required to restore the California Dream – homeownership and affordable, reliable water and utility supplies – to middle income Californians.
