I advise clients on all aspects of development projects, from due diligence to project approval, bringing extensive experience in local planning and zoning regulations, the California Environmental Quality Act, the Subdivision Map Act, and the California Coastal Act.     Ali Wolf

    Ali Wolf is the Chief Economist for Zonda. As head of the Economics Department, Ali manages and analyzes the content for Zonda, provides data analytics, runs special research projects, and presents nationwide, covering topics across the housing market and the wider economy. Ali has focused much of her career on understanding prior recessions and led the charge on ‘Millennials discussing Millennials’ in the homebuilding space. Highly regarded as an industry expert, Ali is quoted frequently in national publications including Bloomberg TV, CNBC, NPR Marketplace, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Yahoo! Finance. Prior to joining the Zonda team, Ali worked for another consultancy firm and was a researcher for both the Canadian and UK Parliaments. Ali holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in Economics and a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics in Real Estate Economics and Finance.

    Tom Arnold

    Tom is extremely well-rounded in that he possesses an unusual balanced blend of LP & GP experience as well as a blend of industry & academic experience. As an LP, Tom has experience with investing in over 150 real estate funds and while internalizing one of the largest real estate investment platforms for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Prior to his role as Deputy Global Head and Global Head of Real Estate for ADIA, Tom was a principal in five real estate funds for Cerberus Capital Management and Credit Suisse. Tom started his career as a transactional lawyer, principally with Holland & Knight, focusing on real estate, lending, securities, and bankruptcy matters. Tom holds a Doctor of Business Administration in Finance, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, with honors, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida, a Master of Law (Taxation) from New York University, a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, a Master of Higher Education Administration from Georgetown University, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. Tom is a licensed attorney and a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) designations. Tom is a recognized thought-leader in the field of private equity real estate funds and has three articles on the field published in the Journal of Portfolio Management. Tom is a Global Governing Trustee and Governor of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), former Treasurer and Board member of ULI, former Chairman of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), former Chairman of the Association of Foreign Investors Real Estate (AFIRE), and a multiple term board member of the Real Estate Roundtable.

    Andrew Watkins

    JZMK

    Andrew Watkins is an architect, planner and urban designer with over 20 years of professional experience. As a Principal and Director of Urban Design and Planning at JZMK in Southern California, his work focuses on large-scale urban design projects that explore the confluence of ecology and urbanism. Andrew has led the design of community plans, urban design and new city planning projects in diverse locales, the United States, China, Indonesia, India, South Africa, Botswana, Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, Armenia and Mexico. Andrew’s work focuses on place making and creating high-quality public realms. His project experience includes urban and suburban revitalization as well as green-field development, with new community work totaling over 20,000 acres of development featuring more than 50,000 homes, retail, commercial and light industrial districts. Andrew has particular interests in projects that engage the ecological systems of food, mobility, waste, shelter and water. Andrew has researched contemporary urban conditions as related to these ecological systems, infrastructure and grassroots organization in both developed and developing nations. Past research projects include ‘The Search for the Perfect Ride: The Future of Mobility Oriented Development in Orange County’; ‘Hyperfood: Integrated Food Systems for the Future’; ‘Building for Resilience’ on the Front Range of Northern Colorado; ‘Social Entrepreneurship: Expanded Business Models in Developing Markets’ studying methodologies for Social Impact Design; ‘Ecologies of Gold’ in Johannesburg, South Africa; ‘Villages in Development’ in China’s rapidly developing Pearl River Delta; ‘Opportunities of Contemporary Urban Transformations’ in Eastern Germany; and ‘Tall Buildings in the City,’ a research fellowship with Moshe Safdie that explored the potentials of connecting tall buildings.     Emma West

    Partner, Bousfields Inc.

    Emma West is a Partner at Bousfields Inc., a planning and urban design consulting firm in Toronto. With over 25 years of experience in urban and environmental planning for the public and private sector clients, Emma has led a broad range of city-building projects in downtown and suburban locations. Her portfolio of work includes projects at all scales from regional plans to site-specific entitlements across Canada and in the Middle East. Currently, Emma’s work is focused on the entitlements process, for residential and mixed-use developments. Further, Emma has a particular focus on entitlements for colleges, universities and health care projects as well as large-scale market and affordable housing projects. As a committed and enthusiastic urbanist, she is an active member of ULI: she is currently Chair of the Women’s Leadership Initiative’s Americas; a member of the Americas Executive Committee; a Global Governing Trustee; Chair of the Governance Committee and Past Chair of ULI Toronto; and a member of the Urban Revitalization Council.
