On August 23rd, the ULI Orange County/Inland Empire Mentorship Program hosted an engaging Living Room session that brought together close to 70 proteges and mentors. The event featured two distinguished guest speakers, Lucy Dunn, former President & CEO of OCBC, and Tom Grable, Division President for Tri Pointe Homes Orange County – Los Angeles. Ms. Dunn and Mr. Grable were interviewed by two current Young Leaders, Megan Palmer with KTGY and Connor Medina with the OC Division of League of California Cities.
Lucy Dunn, with her extensive experience in leadership and advocacy, emphasized the profound impact mentorship had on her journey. She highlighted how guidance and support from mentors had helped her navigate challenges and seize opportunities, ultimately leading to her influential role as the head of OCBC.
Tom Grable, as Division President of a prominent housing company, spoke of his personal experiences benefiting from mentorship. He shared stories of pivotal moments in his career where mentorship played a critical role in his professional development and rise to leadership.
The event was a testament to the power of mentorship and its ability to shape the careers of both proteges and mentors alike. Attendees left with a deeper appreciation for the mentorship program and a renewed commitment to its principles.
